I came out to my car and it wont start. It wont turn over. It seems like a battery problem, but not like I am used to.

Do you have dash instrument lights on with ignition? Check for power at the starter solenoid wire with the key on crank, if nothing check circuit through trans inhibitor switch, battery terminals okay? Clean and tight? Any more details will be a big help.

Dash lights come on, headlights wont turn on and power windows are slowed. Battery terminals are clean and tight. I tried to jump it and it allowed headlights to come on/flicker and it made the rapid clicking. I am guessing low battery charge or bad cable connection. Possibly starter? It has 127k mileage I just bought it.

Test battery CCA and if okay, bench charge and check power at starter with known good battery.

I check battery amperage and it was completely dead even after jumping/letting it sit for 5-10 minutes while jumping. Checked lights while jumping and they went off when trying to start. I got a new battery and it started right up. I'm worried that maybe the alternator is bad which would explain why the battery died. Anyway of checking the status of your alternator?

Volt meter across battery, with engine running you want to see about 14.5 volts, as long as it steps up from static battery when running, a fully charged new battery will not req as much top up charge as an old one.
