Car sputtering and Super slow acceleration and then no acceleration?

Car is sputtering. Accelerates very slowly until it doesn't accelerate anymore. When taking off, it will very slowly accelerate until I'm going 10, maybe 12 mph and I can't go any faster than it jumps and I can go up to 20 now and then it does it again, and I can go up to 30 but will not go above 35 mph even with my foot to the floor on the gas pedal. If I try to go any faster, RPMs will jump up, but my speed will not change.

Hi,

The idea that the engine RPMs jump up, but the vehicle doesn't accelerate sounds like the transmission is either slipping or going into neutral. By chance, is the check engine light on while the engine is running?

If it is, we need to scan the computer for codes. Here is a link that shows how it's done:
