See if it has a clear flood mode, basically hold the throttle right to the floor, On many this actually shuts off the injectors while cranking.
Another item to check would be if it has a fuel pressure regulator that is vacuum controlled. If the diaphragm inside ruptures they will dump a lot of fuel into the engine.
You mentioned you had it torn down. If the injectors sat out a while they may have dried out and one or more could be stuck open. That would also pour a lot of fuel into the engine rapidly.
One thing to be aware of, this vehicle was never sold in the U.S. So we have limited access to specific information. (I have a manual but it's in Japanese !)
However these issues are common to just about every vehicle out there, regardless of who built it.
