I changed my fuel filter and pump because I've been having stalling issues for a week or two. My service airbag light doesn't stay on all the time and is okay with highway speeds. I checked my driver airbag seatbelt thing, and it was still in there without looking like it's going to pop out. I've checked under the passenger seat, and it seems fine as well. I'd like to know how to fix it cause whenever that light turns on, it drops my rpms and if they are enough, it stalls. Help?

Hi,

Does the airbag light stay on while the vehicle is running? If that is the case, you really should have the computer scanned to determine the cause.

As far as the stalling issue, I'm not sure how the airbag light or system would cause the engine to stall. They really aren't tied together.

Here is a link that shows how to scan the can-bus. This is what should be done to make a determination of possible causes. Without this, it becomes a guessing game.

Let me know if that is something you can do or have done.

Take care,

Joe

Not all the time. It turns on and my rpms dip. If I have them high enough, it doesn't stall, and the light turns back off after a moment. This only seems to happen when going at city limit speeds. After about 50, like on a highway, it doesn't do that.

Hi,

Does the engine start right back up when it stalls? I'm trying to think how the airbag light is related and can't think of anything.

Are you able to have the scan done?

Hi,

Okay, if it restarts right away only sometimes, here is what we need to do. When it stalls and doesn't restart, we need to see if there is spark at the plugs.

Here is a link that explains how to check:

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/how-to-check-for-ignition-spark

We need to determine if this is a fuel or ignition-related issue, so this will help narrow it down. If you are unable to do this, see if it will start using starting fluid, and let me know the results.

Take care,

Joe
