I was driving a few blocks and suddenly while driving, and upon continued acceleration, the car was not driving properly. Loss of power and sputtering/stalling feeling as I was still with my foot on the gas pedal. (Not stalling as in engine going out.). Upon arriving at the destination, (with jilted/slow/sputtering performance while driving, ) I also then had a loud, knocking noise with some shaking. Though when trying to drive/accelerate up and down the short length of a sidewalk to repeat the knocking noise, it didn't remain constant? I noticed the sputtering/shaking when the car was backed up in reverse as well, almost worse than when in Drive. I had the car towed home for safety and upon starting the car this morning to see if I could make it locally to the gas station, (gas was a part of my errand yesterday when this problem occurred and is currently low but not totally on empty as of yet, ) Upon startup and reverse in my garage the car was immediately sputtering/shaking with noise again, and the same as I put it in drive to drive a few feet back into my space. This was repeated several times for me to notice the engine or driving/reverse capabilities were not normal. I keep my car well maintained despite the age. Haven't had the oil changed in about 4 months only because it is a fresh oil change that hasn't been driven in the past few months except for short local trips in the neighborhood. I've also only recently had work done on the car entailing new tires, struts, and replacement of rack and pinion and front axels. What could be causing the current sputtering/stuttering engine, compromised driving/reverse accelerations, noise (of sputtering/stuttering when in drive/reverse, ) let alone the loud knocking noise and shaking that my car also did once yesterday during the process of these problems manifesting? (Without the loud knocking noise again repeating this morning after the car was turned on and I tried to back it up out of my parking spot, (noticed sputtering/stalling and noise, and then drove it back into my spot to not take the car out?)
