Car dies and will not start

I was coming home today and my car randomly died. I pulled over and temperature went up. When I tried to restart it it just turned over and turned over without firing(?) Starting (?) However you want to put it. Put jumper cables on it and it started and drove the rest of the way home just fine. Waited a few hours and went out to start it and it started up fine just like normal got about a half block and she died again. Same thing as before. Only this time when I put jumper cables on it she would just turn over and would not actually start. Not sure what is wrong. Please give me some ideas!

Check battery for condition including load test most places do for free and will check charging at same time if running. check fuel pressure with a gauge auto parts rent it.

But if it is turning over it would not be the battery, would it?

It can still turn it over but not fire because it may be weak putting jumper cables kind of shows that if it starts and fires. Check fuses under hood as well.
