Car engine stop when battery is disconnected

I tested the alternator when battery is connected and it reads 14.5 V The car interior lights, dashboard, LCD, and etc flickers or dim. I thought it’s a bad ground problem and when I disconnected the battery the engine stops. I tested the alternator when battery is connected and it reads 14.5 V

Never disconnect the battery when the engine is running, every car will stall by doing that, plus its dangerous. The instrument cluster needs rebuilding for the flicker dim problem.
