My car won't start is it possibly the computer?

My car wouldn't start and the lights started flashing dimly, I had to disconnect the battery to get it to stop flashing. There was a clicking sound under the windsheild on the cowl, not at the starter.I reconnected the battery but the lights came on and it still wouldn't turn over.

Sounds like you have a bad battery. Measure the voltage; it should be near 12.6 volts. If you find around 11.0 volts or less, the battery has a shorted cell and must be replaced.

If the lights keeps flashing after reinstallation of the battery terminals, it could be the security system has been triggered, which could also be due to a weak battery and occurs during attempted cranking.
