Car does not start

When I turn the key to start nothing happens. I charged the battery, but it still wont start. At times the dashboard lights will blink of and on and sometimes they wont even blink. Radio does not turn on. I bought the battery about a year ago. I tried starting it for a whole week at list three to four times each day. Can someone help me out? I was just getting ready to sell it.
