2000 Cadillac Escalade V8 Automatic

I have a 2000 escalade that gets stuck when u put it in park it dosnt want to shift out of park. any suggestions

Assuming that this is not just occurring on a hill, it could be an issue with the cable, check and see if it is broken or loose at the bracket where it attaches to the transmission.
