The rear window wiper does not conform to the shape of the rear window - it stands off a bit and makes limited contact with the window.I've tried bending it toward the window, but the metal seems very strong and I'm worried about breaking something in the process if I really strong-arm it. Any thoughts?

Make sure the spring on the arm isn't disconnected or broken. It is located near where the arm attaches to the motor.

Let me know what you find.

I checked the wiper where you mentioned and the spring is connected and not broken.I'm not sure what the spring is supposed to be doing. Just pulling the wiper "extension" to the other half of the wiper at the base end? Any other thoughts?

Many thanks,

Terry

Terry:
That spring is what keeps tension between the blade and glass. If it doesn't pull hard enough, the blade can float away from the glass. Does it seem to have a good bit of tension on it?

I checked the spring, and it had some tension - I gave it and surrounding mechanism a spray of W-2 and now it's working much better. Many thanks!
