3.4 engine 78,000 gas tank leaks where filler tube connects to tank. This tank is plastic. I found there maybe a check valve here. Question is, can a plastic weld be made to repair the leak, right whre these two meet?

If they are 2 seperate parts, take the filler tube off an put a new seal in.

I was told there is no replacement seal. There is a plastic weld there, replace tank, gm. Thnks. Anyway
