Blower will run. If you turn the switch down, the fan stops and will not start?

The heater fan switch does not work all the time on my '98 Buick Regal with 120k miles. If you start the car with the switch on max, sometimes the blower will run. If you turn the switch down, the fan stops and will not start. At the same time if the twilight sentinel has the lights on, they will go off. If you turn the fan switch back to max the fan will not start but the lights will come on. I had the car into the dealer and they said the light switch was back feeding the cosmos and alienating my fan switch and replaced the offending light switch. Didn't work as I still have the problem.

Any solutions?

Same problem with mine, after 3 hours labor and a ignition relay ($100) the problem is fixed. Good luck

To me it sounds like a bad ground at the blower motor which will cause a backfeed issue as well, Here is the location of the ground and how to test it to help confirm the failure.

Check out the images (below). Please let us know what happens.
