You don't have an ALDL connector. Yours is called a "DLC", (Data Link Connector).
Also, your's is "OBD II", which means you can no longer access your diagnostic trouble codes by jumping wires across the terminals.
You'll need an OBD II scan tool. And keep in mind, all scanners aren't created equal.
A GM scan tool is capable of reading all PCM, ABS, BCM and transmission codes. Most aftermarket scan tools that are bought in a store can't do this. (Snap-on, Mac, Matco brands can but they'll cost you thousands of dollars)
