My car turns off while i'm driving, mostly at night. Dash lights, radio, headlights all work (*the left head light starts acting wierd like it turns off while the right side stays on) but no crank when i turn the key. It has no check engine light. I tested the battery, starter, and the the alternator and they all work fine. What can the problem be?

You may want to investigate the torque converter soleniod it can stall the car when at a stop light and also I've had it happen during driving

The TCC is not going to knock out the dash.

Don't get cocky. A faulty TCC solenoid will have no effect on electrical accessories or cluster functions. That's just a fact.

Ok, I misread the part about the dash but a TCC is still impossible with the symptoms given. It will never cause a "no crank"
*the left head light starts acting wierd like it turns off while the right side stays on) but no crank when i turn the key
It's time to back off the nonsense and wait for the customer to respond.

OK, you've pretty much ruled out battery connections. The starter is highly suspect but it could really be most anything in the starter circuit and it would have to be troubleshooted. You could start out as Cadieman suggested by checking for power at the purple wire at the starter while the key is being held in the "start" position.

gm starter go bad and do nothing.if you have power on the purple wire.the starter needs to be replaced.back in the day first thing im doing is have someone hold th key in start poss.use a hammer to tap on the starter and see if it cranks.
