Is the anti theft light (if equipped) staying lit solid? Have you tried a spare key? If these are OK then could be faulty ignition switch. Also check all fuses

Bluelightnin6, yes we checked all fuses and changed the bad ones, tried spare key, no luck and the "security light, comes on but does not stay lit, it just says security, when you turn the key over then it goes off.

Probably faulty ignition switch then, when ignition is first turned it will power the fuel pump but it only touches the ignition switch itself when you turn it completely. Try jumpering starter to see if it will crank then, if it does then suspect faulty ign. Switch.
