Electrical problem
1996 Buick Century V6 Two Wheel Drive Automatic 100800 miles

Someone tried to steal my 1996 Buick Century. They smashed the steering column on the left side and now the car will not start and the gear shift is locked in park. Is there a way to get the car running without having the steering column repaired? I have been given an estimate of $1000 and I am not sure the car is worth that much.
