my hood won't open, but the cable appears good as it has tension and moves when I pull the release lever. Help

With someone pulling cable try banging in the center of the hood in the front. If that does not work you will have to access the release with a long screwdriver

Ask a helper to pull the hood release for you
go in front and try to tap on the hood
and or try to pull up on the hood
