There really isn't an easy way other than getting to the switch. I attached a few pics showing fuses, switch, wiring and so on.
Take a look at pic 1. You see where power starts at the fuse. Power is then supplied through a relay to the brake light switch via the orange wire in pic 2. From there it goes through the module to the switch (see arrows) and when the brake light switch is closed, power flows back to the joint connector and distributed to the lights.(pic 3)
What you need to do is access the switch and confirm there is power available at the yellow wire and when the switch is closed, power flows out the white wire. (pic 2)
