If it starts when you squirt starting fluid into the mass air flow sensor, then you have a fuel delivery problem. If not, then something else. Possible causes that I can think of are plugged fuel filter giving no fuel pressure to the injectors, or bad ground wire to the injectors, or bad driver circuitry in the computer which drives the injectors. You can tell if the injectors are getting electrical pulses by listening to them with a stethoscope. If the injectors are clicking, then you probably have no fuel pressure.
BTW, I assume you have checked your plugs. You say that you checked the spark, but at 240k miles, your plugs could easily be oil fouled.
