As far as the fob, do you mean the security system has it locked down? If not, it could be a fuel pressure related issue. Do me a favor and try this:
1) From the off position, turn the key to the run position (engine off) and count to five.
2) Turn the key off and repeat step one, three times.
3) On the forth time, see if it starts normally.
I asking this because it may have fuel pressure drop off. By cycling the key as suggested, it gives the fuel pump a chance to build pressure again. Try that. Also, if possible, let me know if the check engine light stays on when the engine is running.
