I have all the signs of a bad blend door actuator but can not find evidence that this thing even exists on my 1999 Hyundai Accent. Not even popping up on any autoparts store or website for this vehicle. Does this vehicle even have one? If not, what was used in it's place?

Hi,

The blend air door on this vehicle isn't electric. Instead, it is actuated by a cable when you change the temperature. (See pic 1)

If you are unable to change the temperature, chances are the cable slipped out of adjustment or has broken.

If you start at the controller, follow the cable to the left side of the HVAC box under the dash. Inspect the cable and where it is mounted to confirm nothing is damaged.

If everything appears to be in good condition, it could simply need to be adjusted. If you look at pic 2, it explains how to adjust the door/cable.

I hope this helps. Let me know what you find.

Take care,

Joe
