The battery light stay on when driving

The battery light stay on when driving. I noticed sign of rats have been under the hood is it possible a rat have damage a wire? Can you send me a wiring diagram on the generator charging system? I want to see where the battery light wire is connected to so I can check it out.

It could be the alternator has gone out but to be sure lets run down this guide to help you find the problem. Also I have included the wiring diagrams so you can see how the system works.

Check the main fusible link coming right off the battery, and where are you checking the voltage at? Right off the battery or from the alternator?
