When I start the engine the battery light stays on. I installed a new alternator and the battery light is still on. I check the battery with the engine off it is 13 volts and I check the charging volts while the engine is running it is 13.9 volts. Why is the battery light staying on? What else can I check and how do I fix the problem?

That fusible link should be located somewhere close to the battery coming right off the positive lead. Fusible links are a bigger fatter part of the wire usually black in color and they are also usually grouped together with a couple other ones as well. Another place it may be is in the fuse panel under the hood (engine compartment fuse box). They will usually be rapped in black heat shrink like picture 2 here.
