Now I am getting 14.7 volts when I check between solenoid mounted on fender and negative post on battery. Across negative post and positive post on battery is 11.2. Should it make a difference on which stud on solenoid I check. One side of solenoid is 14.7 other side is 11.2.

That would mean there is a connection problem with the battery cable between the solenoid and the battery.

If I am understanding you right

The alternator is alternating (lol!) At the starter relay (solenoid.)

However the higher voltage is not getting back to the battery.

I have you a diagram of the charging system.

I had to "screenshot" it in two pieces.

The first being the upper half, second being the lower half.

They overlap each other (you will understand)

SPECIAL ATTENTION! THIS IS diagram for "GAS" AND "DIESEL MODELS"

Disregard the Diesel portions!

You will see all of the fuses/ locations of stuff/ I am guessing you have a FUSIBLE LINK problem (burned out).

All are shown on the diagram. Insure that if one is "SHOT" you replace it with the correct one/ type.

Return with good news!

No, he stated he was reading full charge at the solenoid. The link is between the alternator and the solenoid so that would not be the issue.
