Battery draw?

This is the fuse box we pulled #2 out of. What is next?

My battery goes drained after setting two days. I was told it has something to do with number two fuse.

I have gone through 3 batteries in the past six months. As soon as the car sits for a day or two the battery is dead. Went to get a quick free alternator, starter test and they said both were fine. I finally take it to a dealership. They just called and said my starter is drawing excessive ampage and that is why I have the long crank. I didn't even know I had a long crank. I ask if the starter would drain the battery as it sits and they said no but that my starter problem would cause it not to start. I keep trying to tell them that my issue is that something is draining my battery. If we recharge the battery the car starts no problem. Something is not adding up to me and they won't allow me to talk to the tech directly? I really don't understand that part. Anyhow will a bad starter drain the battery when the car sits idle for a couple days?

Thank you for your response. I did have them check and they said they found no drains. I guess I will just give the ok to replace the starter but I just can't fight the gut feeling that the starter is not my main problem. It's just frustrating. Thank you again for your time

My 2006 Ford Explorer has a phantom battery drain every 3-5 days. I took my vehicle into the local Ford dealership and a local auto electric shop where they performed system and draw tests that showed no draw on the battery. They told we they would have to have it hooked up to the tester when the draw was happening in-order to catch it. Could this be something as simple as the radio not shutting down or the mercury switch on the hood light sticking and running the battery down when the car is turned off? Or would their tests catch this sort of draw? It seems kind of ridiculous that the dealership has no answer for this problem.

The ABS fuses when pulled touch them and they will light up the tester. Is there anyway to find where the short is? I know nothing about electronics. Also the ABS light came on and wont shut off. Lee

I have replaced my car battery, I also replaced the starter and alternator. I took out the #40 fuse and the battery light finally went off. What does that mean? Also before I put the new battery in yesterday I had to keep jumping it off and I changed the wires on the battery. Also the driver door electrical system does not work. On the dash it keeps saying door ajar and the overhead lights stay on. What could that be?

Something is draining the power in my battery. I have checked the interior lights, headlights, cigarette lighter, glove compartment light, and under the hood but can't find the culprit. Battery and alternator are good. Any suggestions?

If you have a test light, you can take the negative battery cable off, attach 1 end of light to the battery and 1 end to the cable, if it lights up bright you for sure have a drain. With light attached start pulling fuses 1 at a time and see if light goes out. If it does at least you have found the circuit that is causing the problem, make sure you check and see what all is controlled by that fuse. Also make sure all doors are shut and hood light bulb is out. Hope this helps
