Terry,
I wrote this and then after submitting it, realized I had the sequence mixed up. There are three things I need you to try. I indicated order at the start of each check. Sorry about that.
Roy, I thought you had it with the alternator / diode thought. However, I want to try something with this. Since the suspension light is on, there is an air suspension module under the dash that may be drawing power. Also, the idea that a relay is being heard needs to be looked considered.
Do this 3rd --- I attached a pic of the module. With the battery disconnected, unplug the suspension module and then do the test. The air suspension control module is mounted to the lower left side of the dash above the parking brake. Make sure the battery is disconnected before disconnecting or reconnecting the module.
Do this 1st --- There should be an air ride on off switch in the rear left of the vehicle. Chances are it is hidden behind the trim. It is a toggle switch. See if that changes things.
Do this 2nd --- If you haven't already, remove the fuses in the fuse box at the right side kick panel. That is the place you would rest your right foot if you were the passenger. See pic 2 for fuses I'm referring to. I have a feeling we found the issue, and it's related to the air ride. Note that the relay for the air ride is under the hood.
Let us know.
Joe
