The backlight on my Nissan Micra Visia 1.24ltr automatic gearbox is no longer working, therefore at night time it's difficult to tell which position gearshift is in if you're not familiar with the layout. This is a new problem & my car is due it's NCT (similar to MOT in UK). How can I fix this?

Most probably the bulb is bad. You would need to remove the console to get at the bulb.

Any idea how I can remove console around automatic gear stick in Micra Visia? There's already a screw removed from front part, so it's loose, but I can't locate what's securing it at the back

I don't have any information for this vehicle but generally the center console can only be removed after removing the rear console as there are screws below the rear console.
