Gears playing up

Car playing up when in stand still and trying too go in too reverse gears crunching and it's taking 2 hands too change gear

sounds like you are having clutch problems. if it is hyraulic, check the fluid. if it is cable and you have enough free play, then most likely you have a pressure plate failure and will require clutch replacement.
