Hi there,

you will have to re code the radio with the security code, it should be in your hand book or radio supplement book.

"I have a 2001 A6 Quattro and after having to get the car jumped last night my radio wont turn on at all...not even SAFE comes up or any of the lights. Checked the fuse and wasn't blown. Is there anything else I can try to do to get it working again?"

There's two fuses, one to switch it on with the ignition switch and one to keep the station preset and clock memory alive. There is likely to be 10 amp fuse in the back of the radio too.

Hi there,

You can only get this code from the Audi dealer, you will have to give them the VIN Number and possibly the radio serial number, contact them for more details.

Be sure to make note of the radio code, which is supplied on a tag with the owner's information or recorded in the owner's manual. As an anti-theft feature, the code must be entered into the radio once power has been removed or any time the battery is disconnected.

NOTE
The radio will not operate until the code is entered, and if entered incorrectly more than 3 times, the radio cannot be reprogrammed for 24 hours.
Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
On radios equipped with 2 vertical holes on either side of their face plate:
Insert a set of radio removal hooks into the holes at the sides of the radio chassis.
Carefully seat the hooks.
Push the tools away from each other to release the spring clips and slide the radio outward far enough to unplug the wiring in the back.
On radios equipped with 2 slots in their face plate:
Insert a set of radio removal keys into the slots as follows:
Audi models: Horizontal slots on the bottom at the lower left and lower right of the radio chassis. Use Tool No. 3344, or equivalent
Passat models: Vertical slots just inward from the side of the radio chassis. Use Tool No. 3316, or equivalent
Carefully seat the keys into the radio chassis and slide the radio outward.
Disconnect the electrical connectors and antenna lead.
Remove the radio and then the removal tools.
To install:

Connect the electrical connectors and antenna lead, then place the radio into the opening.
Carefully press the radio flush with the console. As the radio slides, the retainer should snap into place without excessive force.

Hi there,

You may need to key in the radio security code, if it is not in your owners hand book or radio supplement, contact your dealer with the VIN No and they can retrieve it from there master data base.

Well, but what do I have to do, so I can write in the code?

Any button I need to push before I type the code? Or can It just stand " safe " in the display while Im typing the code.

Thanks.

You will have to check the owners hand book, as the procedure for doing this depends on the system fitted.I have checked Mitchell 1 and they do not have the security code installation procedure.

Hi there,

It just may need the PIN No re setting, if it is a security code type radio, and you don't have the pin, you will have to contact Audie with the VIN No or the radio serial No to get the PIN number.

If it's not in your glove box or owners manual, you will have to go to the dealer. If you remove the radio and retrieve the serial # off your radio, they should be able to do this for free, over the phone.
