Starting at about 35K miles, The engine started making a rattling noise ONLY on start up and is now extremely loud. It almost sounds like a diesel. It is not affected by length of time it sits nor temperatures. Audi dealership says it is the cam adjusters as the oil pressure rises. Says it can not be fixed that it is normal. BS if you ask me. Can you help me

Some noise is normal. But it sounds like this has gone beyond normal for you. There are some Technical Service Bulletins put out by VW/Audi about this specific complaint, which is why they are blowing it off. If you feel this is getting worse and want it addressed seriously, you may need to take it to another dealer for a second opinion. You'll be surprised at how often they don't think it's a problem while it's on their dime.
Make sure the oil is full and the proper viscosity.
There is a possibility that the cam tensioners are worn or that they are not receiving enough oil pressure.
