2000 Audi A4 general parts and repair costs

I have a general question. How does the cost of parts and repair compare between a 2000 Audi a4 and a 1999 Toyota 4 runner SR5? The Totota has 144,000 miles and teh Audi will have 80,000 miles.

The toyota has been in an accident and has a bent axel and the back wheel whoobles slightly because of it and it has body damage on one door.

We are deciding between these two cars for our 16 year old son. We have a general impression that the cost of parts and repairs for German cars specifically Audi is more thatn Japaneese cars suchas the
Toyota.

We are the original owners of the Toyota 4-Runner and the Audi would be purchased through a friend who has been trading cars his whole life and would only charge us around four hundred for strait trade.
SHould we trade it or pay to fix it?
