Today I was trying to get rid of a squeaking belt on my car. I didn’t disconnect the battery before I started working. I know now that that is an issue. That being said I accidentally touch the alternator positive terminal to a metal portion of the alternator. It caused a spark. Now my car won’t start. No crank no clicking. What can I do now? Do I need a new alternator? Do I need a new positive wire?

There is a 120 amp fusible link which sounds like has blown out which is normal to protect the system. here is a alternator wiring diagram so you can see how the system works with the fusible location so you can check it out. (QR)

Check out the diagrams (below). Let us know what happens and please upload pictures or videos of the problem.
