Hello: does it squeel all the time, or just for awhile after start up?To double check for belt squeel, start car after all has cooled off. Feel the temp of the Alt pulley. Start the engine and let it run for about a miniute or so (assume belt will be squeeling) Stop engine and feel temp of alt pulley. If it is hot then you are correct it is slipping causing squeel, if not, then squeel is probably coming from some place else. You couls also disconnect the output from the alternator (disconnect battery first), then with alt output disconnected start and see if squeels (Alt will have no load at this time) so should not squeel. Takes about 10 hp to turn an Alt under full load.
Try that
Darryl.
