Hi,
I recently took my Civic in to have the timing and drive belts replaced. I noticed the other night when warming the car up that the engine started making a load squealing sound for about 10-15 secs. This has happened a few times but not every time I start the car. The noise went away but then returned while I was driving for another 5-10 secs then disappeared again. What could be causing this? It sounds like it is the belts making the noise. How can I fix this issue?

thanks :D

The timing belt would not make the noise. Did all the belts get changed? In order for the timing belt to be replaced all of the belts must come off the car. Whether they put on the old belts or not I guess is not really a problem, but old worn belts on the alternator and power steering can slip. However, new belts can slip as well if the tension is not correct on the belt. You should be able to take it back to the mechanic and have them recheck the tension on the belts. This they should do at no charge.
