Hey, when I insert the key I have all the lights and chimes but when I go to start the car everything goes off and no turn over or crank. Is this the neutral safety switch I’ve heard about? Should it be replaced? If so how?

Hi,

If all power goes off when you turn to the start position, chances are the battery terminals are either loose or corroded causing power to be lost. The starter places a heavy load on it.

Take a look through this link:

Let me know if that helps. Also, a neutral safety switch will not cause everything to go off.

Let me know what you find or if you have other questions.

Take care,
Joe
