i have bought this car 2 weeks ago and i am having a problem with it. i first noticed that the temperature gauge was high then when i got to my destination, the engine was either smoking or steaming but the was a smell to it and it is coming from the rear of the eninge, closest to the windshield. i added a gallon of anitfreeze to it thinking that was the problem but i knowticed the heater is not working either. also this car takes premium unleaded fuel. when the car starts to warm up it sounds fine but then it rpms start going up and down until i put it either in reverse or in drive, then it sounds fine. do you know what the problem is?

Hi shelley725,

You have coolant losses which is due to a leakage somewhere and it is causing the overheating and the surging.

You need to rectify the leakages and hope the engine has not been damaged by the overheating.
