Transmission problem
1991 Acura Legend V6 Front Wheel Drive Automatic 149000 miles
----------------------------------------------------------------
I am noticing a chain like sound in or under the engine. It sounds like its around the front right tire but it sounds like it travels to the RR as well. Like a bike chain thats off before realigning its teeth, or between gears. There is a noticible space and power misassociation shifting between gears 1 and 2 and it seems to almost blow through 3 but I am able to accelerate and decelerate normally except for the kick/lack between 1 and 2.

Also I am noticing thicker exhaust. It isn't dark or white and I'm not burning or leaking any oil.

The anti lock break light turns on after 2 minutes, and the anti lock breaks work.

Are the CV axles in good shape?

Check the fluids for color and thus contamination possibly from another system. ie. oil in coolant, coolant in oil.

If you know the ABS is working are the lights all working on the exterior? Chances are the brakes work but not the ABS. I would check the wheel sensors first.
