Transmission problem
2000 Acura Integra 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive 73000 miles

I just bought a new-to-me/used b18b1 engine, and the seller claims to have coupled it to a type-r transmission, how would I go about verifying this? He claims a type-r intake manifold as well.

There is a serial number on the transmission. It'll be right on the front of the transmission. It'll say something like S80-A5228. If there is no serial # that means it has been pulled off and there is no real way of checking (short of removing an axle to check if it has an LSD differential).

I can tell you for a fact that it does not have a type-r intake manifold though, because they do not bolt up to b18b1 engines.

That helps a lot. I do have that number set on the car. Will it only have it if it is a Type-R or will it be there regardless?
