Recently had a shop replace the AC compressor. Once I was inside of the car the AC was cold but once I was driving it home it went hot. The AC compressor does not engage. What would be the causes for this? Would it be too low on Freon?

Good morning.

Yes, it sounds like you have a leak and all the freon left the system.

I would return to the shop and have them recheck there work to be sure there is no leaks.

Makes sense. If the condenser is leaking and the Creon level pressure gets below 20 on the low side, it will cut off voltage to the compressor.

Your mechanic should know this. If he does not, maybe it would be better to take it to someone who knows AC systems.

They should evacuate the system for forty five minutes. Watch for any leaks, charge the system and recheck for leaks.

Also, I went over a speed bump I heard a loud clunk from the left tire. Would that be my shocks?
