The truck listed above has an2.7 EcoBoost. I have ABS, hill descent control, Rear Park Aid and AdvanceTrac warning lights and messages on my dash. I just replaced UCA’s and had to remove CV axles in order to do this. Could this be an issue with possibly damaging the wheel speed sensors in the process of messing with the axles? Have you seen this issue before?

Good afternoon,

The ABS system has stored a fault code. I need that code to direct me to the area of failure.

Once the ABS is repaired, all the other systems will come back on line.

Here are instructions on how to replace the ABS wheel sped sensors which is common. Here are both front and rear sensors. Check out the diagrams (below). Please let us know what happens.

Wheel spin in the snow (getting out of about 10" packed layer and switched to 4WD high) caused the ABS light to come on and later a "wrench" symbol to appear as well as engine light on. This keeps changing as computer tries to test itself - some lights are on in various combinations - car runs in safe mode with limited power. The codes were cleared except ABS (could not clear). The two codes were present -C1230 speed sensor and P2106TAC. Also fron is shaking between 40-50mph since than with brand new balanced rims! And tires (OEM)
Can you help, please - what is it?

Ok the code C1230 is the speed sensor on the top of the rear diff. See pic below. The other code seems to point to the EGR system. It will require a scan tool and maybe a digital multi meter to check that on.

Unusual for both sensors to go out together, a live data read will show if the sensors are picking up wheel rotation, they may be loose and the air gap is excessive or the harness has been damaged, has any front end work been done recently that may have involved the sensors?

I have been told that there are 3 different speed sensors on my 97 F150. Is there a diagnostic or any way for that matter to determine which of the three is the one that needs replaced?

Yes. The easiest way is to check the codes. I attached a guide on how to do this on an OBD II vehicle.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jr_Iv8T_Phk

The only other way would be to test each wheel speed sensor and see which one is not functioning correctly. Here is a guide that will help with this:

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/abs-wheel-speed-sensor-test

Let's run through this information and find out which speed sensor is the issue and then we need to follow this guide on how to replace it if one is failed:

Thanks
