Compressor was making a noise. Hooked up a gauge and read high pressure on the low side. Recovered some of the refrigerant to release said pressure and topped back off to the correct pressure. Compressor does not make noise anymore and sounds and looks like it is running normal, however air isn’t too cold anymore coming out of the vents. Could this be a compressor issue still, or possibly that the system needs to be placed under vacuum before being filled back up? Also seems like the clutch didn’t want to disengage when I recovered some of the refrigerant. Recovered enough to where the clutch either should have disengaged or at least cycled.

This could be a number of things. Let's start by reading pressures and tell me what they are, then pull it down into a vacuum for about an hour and make sure it holds. Then charge it with the proper amount and read the pressure again and check the air temperature coming out of the vents.

Once we get this info, we will better know what is wrong with the system. It could be a compressor but it could also be a faulty expansion valve. So let's check the pressures as it sits and then do the above steps. Thanks
