Hello,

That 454 engine you built on your YouTube channel, is it California compliant? would you be able to smog that car without any issues?

Hello,

I sent your question to Ryan; he is the person that did the YouTube 454 build. He will answer
your question shortly.

Thank you,

Hey there!

Thanks so much for watching the series! So, to answer your question, no the big block we built would never pass smog in California. I live in California and have it in a car and are running it on the street legally because it is older than 1975. That is how I got around that.

The camshaft, heads, intake and carburetor would never pass a smog test. You could rebuild an engine with all the new stock parts or with California smog compliant parts and that would work.

Thank you for using 2CarPros!

Best,
Ryan
