2007 Chevy Silverado V8 Four Wheel Drive Automatic

Can you tell me anything about the 8.1 litre gas engine used in the 2007 Chev Silverado with 5 speed auto trans compared to a 6.0 litre gas, gas mileage, horsepower, dependability, I am looking at buying this truck but have not see this size motor in any ads for used trucks.

The standard engine was a 6.0-liter V8 that made 300 hp and 360 lb-ft of torque. There were two optional engines: an 8.1-liter gasoline V8 producing 340 hp and 455 lb-ft of torque and a 6.6-liter turbodiesel producing 300 hp and 520 lb-ft. Since this engine was optional there were far less made and will be harder to find. All 3 engine configurations have been proven reliable.
