i have a 2012 Chrysler 200 v6 , it recently displayed the check engine light , check the code and it ref plug 6, i changed all plugs and gap to spec, switch the the coil between the #1 and #6 plug , to see if the coil was bad and see if the code would changed it had not still ref plug 6.
as i am looking at the vehicle engine standing in front on the car i am making the assumption the front of the vehicle is the left side and the back row of plugs are the 1-3-5 and the front row are the 2-4-6 plugs.
I run Lucas injection cleaner when i do oil changes ,
any thought of why the check engine ref #6 plug

Your assumption is correct. The first thing you need to do is somehow verify that coil is firing. Once you can eliminate spark, then you would start looking at the injectors.

stupid question, but where is the #6 located at ? i am assuming it is ( as you are standing in front of the car looking at the engine) the #6 plug is front row right side, the front of the engine would be left side 1-3-5
2-4-6
front of car
so when i switch the coil between 1 and 6 if the coil was bad than it should have read a error on the #1 plug, know what i am seeing is the check engine light will turn off , for awhile than come back on. I ran 2 tanks of fuel with fuel injector cleaner
what is the best way to check spark in the coil?

Forget the junk in the gas tank. The only one that benefits from that is the person that sold it to you. There is no such thing as Mechanic in a can. The are various spark testers available at the auto parts stores for a minimal price. https://www.2carpros.com/images/external/176124115.jpg

There is an arrow in the diagram that clearly identifies the front of the vehicle.
