Air conditioner not working

Well obviously, there is a problem with the A/C system if your getting warm air. The problem may be in the temperature controls.

The temp in that vehicle is controlled by a blend door that regulates heated air flow. It is operated by an electric motor/actuator. The problem can be that the actuator is stripped or inoperative or the door itself could be damaged. This is what needs to be determined by examining the actuator and see if it is responding to heat change commands or not.

Last year I replaced a switch. Is that what you are talking about. And is it possible to show me a image of where to locate this part of the ford fusion. Do it have anything to do with a sensor under the dashboard?

The LH temperature blend door actuator can be accessed from below the LH side of the instrument panel.

Mine quit working too. It will blow but the compressor will not engage. Ford told me it was an ambient air temperature sensor. When I researched it it show 3 diff air temperature sensors: 1 behind the dash just below steering wheel to the right, 1 in the actual vent/blower assembly, and 1 under the hood mounted on the upper radiator mount.

My AC started blowing cold then blowing warm then cool then warm. Then it just started blowing nothing but warm. A friend check to see if it was low on freon said that was fine. I check fuses I could find for AC but they were ok what else hopefully not compressor right?

Hello,

This is what happens when the temperature blend door actuator goes bad. Here is a guide to help walk you through the steps and the location of the actuator for you car below.

I have discharge the A/C system and pull a vacuum 30 mc but when recharging the Freon it just goes up on pressure and nothing is cooling. While all the buttons and fuses and blower work, just no cold air.

Do you happen to have a gauge set that can give you the low and high side pressures? That is good that we know there are no leaks due to it holding a vacuum but we need to find out if the system is full.

I assume it is full and if the compressor is running but no cold air then the compressor has failed. However, let's start with the pressures because it may just be low. The pressures will tell us if the compressor is creating the pressure difference that is needed and we will quickly find out if the compressor is faulty. Thanks
