2009 Hyunai Sonata Runs fine, good mileage
After long drives of 3 to 5 hours car makes a noise up front like crinkling foil wrap while car in drive or reverse. Noise stops in neutral or park. Dealer thought sound was in steering but unable to constantly remake the sound. After long trip the sound comes and goes for a couple days but will be gone till next trip. I thhought it must deal with something getting overheated but everything seems to check out. Trips have been in summer and winter.

Without the physical car it would be impossible to diagnose the noise and being intermittent, it would be even more difficult.

You need to get the noise to appear and then try to locate the source.
