Car just started overheating while idling with the A/C on. Any thoughts on where to start?

Major items to focus on are coolant level and quality. Cooling and A/C fan operation. Do they both come on when the A/C is on?
Then we are going to need to check the thermostat operation. Put it hot water and make sure it completely opens.
