Engine ran low of oil, when oil was replace it began to smoke white.

You may have over heated it and blown the head gasket. Coolant is white when its burned in the exhaust. If it runs ok then just drive it and watch your oil and coolant frequently to see if the levels drop. You've definitely got some damage in the head letting oil and/or coolant in to the combustion chambers
