Anyways here are the car problems, there are 5 that I can remember. I've ordered them by priority:
(1.) Something in the dash/engine firewall is making a bubbling noise that is really loud. Its done this for years now. Had the local dealer work on it for $200+ and the noise got much lower but was still there. At first it sounded like a mouse was running back and forth but now it has progressed into a boiling sound.
(2.) The heater will not work unless I turn the thermastat up to 80 or 85 degree's. A real bitch in the winter.
(3.) Dash buttons for heater and a/c
(a.) Fan speed does not stay set when turned off and back on.
(b.) If I press the button for air recirculation (air from outside or recirculating inside air) the a/c light may come on. The a/c light may also come on if I press some other button.
(c.) If I press the auto button and leave it on for say a very long drive the fan stays on but no air comes out. I've noticed this with the a/c but haven't tested it with the heater.
(4.) I noticed that not only are my parking brakes completely worn out, but the brake cable is disconnected. I looked at the brakes and there is no way for me to replace the pads and those springs with the axle still on the car. The Clymer manual shows how to remove the axleshaft but I've never done this before so I do not know what to look out for except for what the manual shows. Does the old seal on the axlehousing need to be replaced or can I reuse it? Is there a better repair manual then Clymer that I can use?
(5.) The steering wheel lock doesn't work.
That's all the problems I can think of right now. I need to start knocking these problems off before more start backing up my repair queue. I can do the work if I have good instructions.
So basically I need to know what the cause of these problems are (except for the parking brake) and how to repair them. Any assistence you can give me will be very much appreciated.
Thank you in advance,
KZ
